I live in London and I'm sure I've been down this road loads of times, but only recently found this wacking great memorial in the middle of the street. I like the anonimity of the women and yet the variety and humanity and of the clothing that looks as if it has only just been taken off.
The women who devoted themselves to helping the war effort didn't do it for personal glory and this monument reflects that beautifully.
