'till the cows come home

The intriguing work has a curious mix of sounds of livestock, auctions, people talking about their memories, along with sounds of events that have recently taken place such as the road works and the Tour de France. It also includes drawings of cattle engraved into the brickwork, like ghostly forms that have made their way to the surface.

Cathy explained “it was really important to me that I did not add anything to the surface of the wall, it would have been easy to add paint but the work called for an integral approach, that is why I have engraved into the very brick work. The weather also adds interesting elements, when wet, some of the drawings are not as visible as when its dry and I like that, it adds to the ephemeral quality of what I’m trying to depict, which is memory.” She continued “the wall now has a voice., It speaks of what it has seen and heard and it will continue to talk, ‘till the cows come home!”
