Super Cone Banana

(Viewed 822 times - 2 comments)
A temporary piece of art for Liverpool Capital of Culture 2008.
My favourite superlamb banana as it summed up much of the Year of Culture. Not unlike many Cities going through massive regeneration and influx of culture,it was subject to roadworks, road closures, white hard hats and reflective jackets.
With its wide roads there is certainly room for narrowing of the streets by the planting of trees in the roadway to create a more friendly, calmer and less draughty city. The interaction of the calmed car, pedestrians, shops, and bycycles is a vital part of a successful vibrant city's life.

The Spider Decends

(Viewed 796 times - 0 comments)
spouting water from its mouth The Spider descends down towards the Mersey Tunnel, never to be seen again?
People watch transfixed and awestruck, frozen in their tracks with fear.Drones captured and paralised by the spiders poisonous venom operate the controls of its hydraulic legs

Joyful Trees Arbores Laetae

(Viewed 652 times - 5 comments)
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/merseyside/7574028.stm

Part-funded by The Mersey Forest and the Northwest RDA through Liverpool Biennial. 17 fastigiate hornbeam trees, 3 of which turn gently inclining around to create a sense of mystery evoked in the likes of Grimm's Fairy Tales. Are the trees following me? Are they like the Tall Ships that pass along the estuary once a year with their sails gently passing the static buildings of Liverpool's waterfront?
