Found this on a wall just off carnaby street. It's huge multi-faceted - a cross between peter blake's cover of sergeant pepper and some post-modern italian renaissance altar piece filled with modern day saints.

Google produced little background so all comments welcome

I checked it out this afternoon when I was in the area after seeing your post. I could recognise a few faces such as writer Dylan Thomas and jazzman George Melly - see the right-hand panel on this shot. The mural is populated with Soho characters (Melly, for example, would be associated with Ronnie Scott's club and Archer Street, the jazzers' labour exchange in the 40s and 50s). The whole of Soho is depicted in the main part of the mural, right down to Chinatown - so a generous interpretation of what constitutes Soho.
