Superlambanana Liverpool

Came across this early morning driving thru my hometown - Liverpool - a huge yellow thing.

When I showed the picture to me Mum she knew exactly what it was including its name . Seems it's famous or infamous depending on your understanding of contemporary art. Me mum didn't like or approve of it! I don't understand it I have to ask Why? To which modern art retort's - Why not? So I end up in me mum's camp!
