MOBiOG: hit the street

I'm nige. Photographer and aesthete, with a love of capturing things at street level, be they people, art, or otherwise.

Public art, in my opinion, is the most relevant form of art we have in the UK at the moment. It captures the zeitgeist, and does so without containing itelf in the walls of high-brow galleries, choosing instead to confront us whilst we are moving from A to B, when something else is occupying our minds & our time. We are busy people, working longer hours than we ever have. Time is fleeting, and with so little of it left to spend with our families and friends, what time have we for art?

So, this is why i am interested in that which will make me stop - even if for just a moment - and think, or provoke a reaction in me. Sculpture | Grafitti | Architecture | Installation | Performance. These are my areas of interest, and i hope to convey that interest with this moblog.

MK-G is entirely painted in a magenta hue, and by the main entrance you cannot miss the huge painted turquoise drawer.

wish i could have been there. i really do like what he has done with MK-G. it has brought some much needed colour to alot of the stark architecture in MK.
