This is a famous statue in my home town Liverpool. Its a huge, stark naked, bronze man on the bough of ship above the old main entrance to Lewis's Department Store - on the corner of Ranelagh and Renshaw Streets.
I've called this 'One of Lewis's' as I thought the Liverpool expression ' standing there like one of Lewis's' meaning you are waiting around aimlessly orginally came from this statue. I was wrong me mum told me it actually predates the staue - in the 20's Lewis's had live models their shop windows....hence 'standing there like one of Lewis's [shop window models]'.....you live and learn :-)
