public art in london Group

This group is for anyone living in or visiting London who has captured publicly accessible art in the Capital. I chose a Banksy image as the groups join image because I am quite firmly of the belief that his work (and others) adds to the panoply of culture and art in the city, what do you think?

Cool, cheers guys. That's one *major* difference between mbUK and this install, there are loads of post elements which are editable by any logged in user; tags and the meta information related to the artwork. This is precisely for this kind of instance; I dont know much about this work, but you guys do, so you can easily edit my post to bring it up to date. When the mapping interface is made live it will be more clear how useful this is - based on city and street name, the post is put onto a google map to create a massive index and locative map of public art in the UK. We're still testing that quite a bit and it won't be quite ready for launch on the 30th we don't think.

I love the idea of openness. Perhaps Open-ID could be incorporated too?

Nice idea - we're constrained by time right now, but it will be an ongoing project.

This is a great pic, one which I must have driven past umpteen times without realising.

I think that the artists of this piece is Wolfgang and Heron. They have also produced a memorial in Manchester Piccadilly Gardens to commemorate the civillians who died in Manchester during the blitz.

They are great artists and very professional!!
