I loaded up the wrong picture for the caption! And I can see no way of changing it. Come on mods where are the editing features?

As you can see this is not made out of leaves. This was built from ice and frozen snow and had melted within a few hours.

Escher,

Assuming you are signed in first?
go to below the image where it says no of views. you will see 'edit'...click here.it will then bring you to the image edit page.you can change text or image as you see fit.
great picture anyhow.
Was this art part of an event or spontaneous activity?

Thanks Greenstreeter. I tried the edit link but it doesn't allow you to edit the original title that it was uploaded with. I've found quite a few bugs on this site that still need ironing out but it is a beta release so that isn't a surprise.

As for your question: yes it was just an impromptu thing. I went up there to look at the ice and just got carried away!

Escher, have fixed title for you - you ok to sort the explanatory text? Fabulous picture

Thanks for that. To answer your question no I can't. I click on Edit Image Details and get these fields:-

edit tags

Artist

Title of the artwork

Street/Road

City/Town/Village

County

Postcode

The form is also titled " edit tags" and doesn't list the description as an editable field. Also I tried to change the "title of artwork" field and although the correct value in the form is always there it did not update the title on the main photo display page.

Ps. Are you a mod/admin for this site? I am slightly concerned about the compulsory creative commons licence, when I would prefer different options. I need to keep the copyright on these images as they are of my artwork. This site has potential and really could grown and grow. There is definitely a niche for a site such as this for public artworks. But without guaranteed copyright I shall have to delete my profile and images altogether.

You should see (when you are logged in) an 'Edit' link to the left of 'see on the Big Art Map' to be able to edit the description. To change the title you actually have to fill in 2 fields (one at the top and one down below - which is a beta bug to be fixed).

I am an admin. The Creative Commons licence is a non-commercial, attribution one. Does that not cover what you need to protect?

(This is the first time the issue has been raised. If it doesn't protect what you need protecting, I suggest you mark your images with a standard copyright notice for now (prominently in the description field) and I'll pursue the matter further with Channel 4.)

Hi Arkangel, not been around for awhile so apologies for the time its taken to get back to you.

This is what I see when I click the edit link (exactly as I descrived above):-

edit tags

Artist
Title of the artwork
Street/Road
City/Town/Village
County
Postcode

There is no field to alter the description. I am reasonably familiar with code, form design and testing practices as I am a software developer but (unless my eyesight is failing - which is possible!) I can't find a way of altering the description anywhere.

What would be nice are these features:-

Editable fields for all data
The ability to repost/replace the photo with a different one
Also my art is often in out of the way places in the countryside, being limited to putting a road for a location can often mean it is nowhere near where it actually is! Grid references or an interactive map that you can link to the actual location would be good.

Well if I don't ask!

I'll look into the copyright issue. There are several creative common licences and it would be nice to be able to choose the right one. Your idea to stamp copyright on the image is a good one.

Thanks for all your help
Richard
