wow what an interesting piece, i really like this effect because it jumps out at you and sais look at me ......
Richard Wilson is the biz! Its' been commissioned as a part of the Liverpool Biennial and will run throughout 2008 when Liverpool will be European City of Culture. It's up there with his sump oil piece, 20:50 (my fave) which used to be a permanent installation at Saatchi Gallery, London.
There's a lot of crap and corny public art in Liverpool - but this makes me soar, and feel like I'm in love with everyone, it makes me believe that buildings can have a heart . . . and there's still hope for art!
This is a fantastic temporary piece of Public Art and I hope to see it before it is removed. It's great to regenerate a derelict space like this. What a vision and what an incredible piece of engineering. Your photo captures it well.
